Hollow Heart

I have always been intrigued by the hollow of a tree. I thought it might be cool to create an image of the hollow, but in the shape of a heart. A "hollow heart," if you may. (That sounds a lot more depressing than intended...)

Song Bird

I love little birds!! That is all the explanation this needs...

Curiosity of the Night Sky

This doodle was inspired by my little sisters Samara and Ailah. Samara has a great fascination with the moon. She has always loved to go out into the backyard and stare at the full moon in all of its glory. And Ailah loves flashlights! Her imagine will run away with her and that beam of light. Oh, the adventures they share. This picture captures their curiosity of the night sky.

Swing Away

This drawing was inspired by my love for tree swings. We used to have a tree swing in my backyard growing up, as well as a tire swing at our cabin in the mountains. I have so many fond memories of swinging away in the warm sunshine.

Tree. And Bird. With Some Grass as Well.

There isn't anything too special about this doodle. I just wanted to show off my fine and articulate note-taking skills...

Lasting Love

I was inspired to draw this picture after my dear friends Jenny and John got engaged. Although I'm sure they looked a little less cartoon-like during the actual proposal, I would like to think this captures a bit of the moment.

Catch a Falling Star

Who wouldn't want to catch a falling star and put it in their pocket?

Tree in the Clouds

I painted this picture for my mom. This is another place I would love to escape to. The view would be so lovely, and it would be fun to be tucked away in the clouds.

Make a Wish!

This is a birthday card that I drew for my dear friend Kristen. This is also a whimsical place to which I would love to escape. (Who wouldn't want to escape onto a giant cupcake?!) That would be quite the birthday wish.

Blustery Day

This doodle displays another love of mine: kites. There is nothing better than a slightly blustery day in the summer, with the warm breeze taking your kite for a ride in the air. I suppose this drawing stems from the memories that I have of flying a kite with my darling sisters. Such fond memories.

Baking Cookies!

I drew this picture for the front of my mom's cookbook. I suppose that is why the kitchen in the drawing looks quite similar to my parent's kitchen... As you can see, the girl is baking cookies. This is probably due to the fact that cookies happen to be one of about five things that I can create in the kitchen. I can't allow a doodle to be more talented than myself!

To Fly is a Mighty Adventure

I have always loved balloons. (As long as they don't pop in my face...) I find the idea that a flock of them would be quite entertaining to take a ride on. However, my friend pointed out that I may not always end up at the correct destination. I suppose that is what you call an adventure.

Sunset

This painting is one of the first pictures that I created using the silhouette of the little girl. I suppose this is what started it all. I wanted to create a whimsical escape.
